This church teaches that you receive the Holy Spirit during baptism. The Bible does not teach this. Ephesians 1:13-14 says that you receive the Holy Spirit upon believing, not upon being baptized. This is a gospel issue, which means that if your church is not correct on it, you are at the wrong church. From their "What We Believe" tab on the website: "We are raised from baptism with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, proclaiming to the world our belief in Jesus Christ and our desire to live differently for Him." What the Bible says: " 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory." Ephesians 1:13-14 They can be right on a whole lot of things, such as the fact that we are only able to do good things through the Holy Spirit enabling us. That is true. But their whole gospel is not right, therefore I suggest a church that has a proper understanding of the clear text. All churches have issues, but this one is glaring and one of gospel-importance. The implications of this teaching is that unless you are baptized, you will not have the Holy Spirit. God forbid you die on the way to being baptized, for you will be hopeless then. The Bible teaches no such doctrine. One is saved by grace through faith alone in Christ alone. We are justified not by our merits, but by his. Saturn Road turns salvation into a man-merited system by saying that baptism is when the Spirit is given. And they are clearly wrong.
