Watch out for shady (and even illegal) billing practices. The tech in the room can choose to do more procedures than what your doctor ordered, which leaves the patient with a bill exceeding the original charge. They also charge several hundred dollars for mammograms because they code it in such a way that insurance won’t cover it all and the patient is left with a surprise bill. (HB 170)

I’ve had several MRI’s over the years at Touchstone but have always had insurance. I know that they’ll work with uninsured patients by having a reasonable payment plan and sometimes give a discount depending on your situation. Just call and tell the business office what kind of MRI your dr. wants you to have and that you don’t have insurance. They’re very good there and will do all they’re allowed to do for you. It doesn’t cost anything to ask.
