Carpets of Arizona was fantastic from start to finish! Elizabeth came out to my home to give me a quote, and brought samples that were exactly what I was looking for! In less than a week, Luis was out to install. He was friendly, worked around us since we work from home, finished the job in one day. We are so happy with the service and carpets! Highly recommend!

Questions & Answers

I want that vinyl wood look but I have tile now Can you lay over the tile or do we have to get rid of it How expensive is that?

That's a very common question. In some cases you can put Luxury Vinyl Planks over tile. It's a great idea that often times doesn't work out. Let me explain why. 1. Transitioning to other flooring in the house becomes difficult. Like if you are going against carpet the carpet will be a lot lower instead of the same level. 2. Baseboards are often under the tile so we would have to remove the baseboards or get creative, but it always causes a problem 3. In the kitchen you won't be able to remove the dishwasher because the floor is no higher. We would love to do this but when we have in the past there are often unexpected problems. As to the cost it's around $3 - $4 depending on the tile and using dustless removal.

I keep hearing about this LVT. Why is this a better option over tile?

The tile options out there are simply gorgeous and I wish tile was a better product but here are the challenges you have. Installing tile isn't consistent so you can have higher and lower lips in places depending on the material and the installer. It's very messy and time consuming to install. It usually takes about twice as long to install which really disrupts the household. It's difficult to get consistent with grout color and grout lines. Installers are increasingly more difficult to find and good installers are really expensive and almost impossible to find on short notice. Standing on tile is hard on your back and knees and tile can be difficult to clean and extremely difficult to replace should one get cracked. Luxury Vinyl Planks or Tile have skyrocketed in sales because the selection has gotten really good with some looking like real wood flooring. It's waterproof so it's excellent in your kitchen and bathroom It's really easy to clean. LVP is soft on your feet n back

What is the difference between polyester and nylon? Which should I choose?

Cheryl Hughes | Oct 11, 2020

Great question! Nylon is a better quality fiber and it's easier to clean and it will hold up better than most polyesters. Now with that said Polyester has come a long way. I would much rather have a good polyester than a cheap Nylon carpet. We have one called Bellera, It's our top seller, I would put that up to any Nylon carpet out there. It has a waterproof backing and it was specially made for stairs and high traffic areas.

Is Laminate better than Vinyl?

The cost and experience you'll Have is very much the same between good quality Laminate and Vinyl flooring. We find customers make their decision based on what they like better from a looks standpoint
