The cemetery and the arboretum and gardens surrounding it absolutely deserves its status as a National Historic Landmark. I am very proud that it has served as the final resting place for members of my family for more that 150 years.
Enjoying the Days
Wow. The architecture at Spring Grove Cemetery left me at a loss for words. Beautifully crafted grave stones and monuments and mausoleums provided so many sights to see and left me wondering about the people interred with them and what their lives were like. Old cemeteries are a treasure of history and ancestry.

I have a fair bit of family buried here from over a century ago all the way to more recent times. I'm very impressed with the great maintenance of my familys grave from ages ago. At most graveyards, they do not care as much for the older tombs, but Spring Grove definitely goes above and beyond regardless of the age of the grave. Thank y'all for y'all's work! I appreciate it!

Yes, where my daughter is laid to rest the trees are absolutely beautiful, the color changes look amazing.
They removed all decorations on the 10th of January
I am not 100% certain if they do have a halloween walk in this facility. But I suggest that you either call them at the number they have here, over there personally and speak to one of the receptionist in the office or check their website for more information. I hope this suggestion helps in some way. Good luck!
They are open until 8pm on Monday and Thursday.
I do not know, while it sounds absolutely possible, I don't think it's there.
While they have celebrations all weekend, the main one is Monday with period costumes , music, and Abe Lincoln ..scattering of the flowers over Graves.
All over the place. And if not benches, throw a blanket. SGC is one of original park cemeteries meant for such activities!!
Recommend calling and asking about fishing. Sorry I don't know. In any event a beautiful relaxing place to walk, which is allowed.
Anyone that works here would be more then happy to help you find the grave you are looking for
It's to the right of the main gate
No, they're inside and masks are required.
Ah yes and over there is where your family can buy a spot discounted if you kick the bucket in the next month
Bernadine - It depends on what you are referring to. The cemetery mows the lawn and trims around markers as part of our care for the cemetery. We have long term (decades) care for individual customer flower beds and other plant material. Also, individual monuments/benches can be endowed for certain maintenance items such as cleaning. Please call our main offices at (513) 681-7526 to find out more.
Good question I think they're all the same
I'm sorry I don't know
Great question I don't know the answer to that though now I would have known
The leaves are beginning to turn at Shooting Grove. October is a wonderful month to visit and enjoy the colors, ponds and natural beauty.
Yes
During the summer months fresh flowers only. I believe the month of October is the last month for fresh flowers.

The gates are usually open later than office hours. The gate by funeral home usually open until 8.
About 733 acres! Second largest in the country.
No, once the cemetery is closed no one is allowed in.
The Sentinel is a depiction of a Union Soldier sculpted by Randolph Rogers
Cemetery not closed however I'm sure using back entrance would be best!
Usually around the 3rd weekend in October.
Civil War Generals, Congressional Medal Of Honor Recpients, Major Joseph Hooker Revolutionary War Soldiers, Charles West, Judge Jacob Burney, Levi Quaker ,Jacob Ammen, Nicholas Longworth Anderson.
Doesn't sound like it should be very much. Sounds like it would be best to contact the mortician with that question
You'd be looking at the cost of the Grave marker, the cost of the plot, the cost of a funeral homes Services, the cost of the Vault, and the cost of the casket. The total dollar amount you would get talking to your funeral director or Spring Grove directly.
When you get to cemetery, go to office by front gate. When you walk in, They have a person dedicated to helping people find lived ones graves, very helpful..
