This library is a gem - it's an incredible building, the staff are always delightful and helpful, and do you SEE how big it is? So so many books. This is actually the one place I always take visitors to the city, more so than any of the museums or other indoor attractions.

There isn't a public library that compares. Definitely a favorite spot. Every floor is worth a visit. Maybe I'm just sentimental. But I love this library. Great kids area. There is a large floating homeless population in this city so have a heart and be kind. The staff and security are awesome as well. And the memorial to veterans as you go up the first two floor escalators is amazing.

Cop makers lab was dope, the people in it were extremely helpful, Jeff and the older gentleman with glasses

Things have changed with city services again so ask the city hall officials or call the library if you want to know before you go in person.
YES THEY CAN HELP BUT THE SERVICES AND COMPUTERS ARE LIMITED
.15 cents but I don't think there open to day its Sunday.
It's the winter garden & some refer to as the atrium. No reservations are required to visit, unless there is a scheduled event taking place in area.
No you don't need a library card just to sit around at the library and read books to listen to your music if you trying to check out a book then you need a library card which is only cost a dollar
Yes
Best place in chicago
It probably depends on what it is and it's condition. I would call the library to find out and if they can't accept them they'll be able to refer you to who can.
Yes, you can.
Sure you can borrow books from Any Chicago Public Library as long as you have a Valid Chicago Public Library Card. It's simple just choose the book of your interest and take to the checkout counter and they'll scan the book with your library card and give you an return date
Yes.
Yes.I don't exactly know when it starts each year.
Opens from 7am to 7pm on weekdays on Saturdays 7am to 2pm
No I do not you should contact the library they may have it!
If you are looking for a physical book that you would like to go check out at the library, you can go to their main website and search by title, author, or other keywords. If you are looking for ebooks, you can also download the app called Libby. It allows you to search, download, and read ebooks with your library card!
Yup. Day gotta it here. 2 classes 4 u
Yes, 3rd floor..
When i was there years ago i didnt look up info on microfilm so i dont know the procedures or which floor thats on. Sorry, perhaps check their main number or help desk.
They are on State Street at the main entrance and on Plymouth Court just south of the entrance there. All materials left in drop boxes are backdated and checked in as if it is the day before the boxes are emptied in the morning.
All floors with the exception of the 10th floor can be visited, provided there is no event restricting the public from the area. That's ranging from the lower level up to the 9th floor
I don't believe so
You can use CPS parking at 651 s state str. It's a short walk away.
