The view is pretty spectacular, but it's getting more and more crowded every year. On a weekend you can expect dozens of cars driving by looking for a place to camp, some as late as midnight.

Do you need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to make it up to this place?

I would recommend a truck with 4wd or an AWD car with good clearance to make it all the way out. I've seen sedans make it to campsites that are near the start of the dirt road but never to the specific camp site you are referring to.
