Came here last summer to pray after hours outside on the curtilage of the premises. For those of you that don't know what that means it's property beyond the sidewalk which is PUBLIC property owned by NYS. This means it's open to the public. A gentleman who identified himself as a member of the church (pastor) asked me to leave because apparently I was acting "suspicious" for praying outside. As if it wasn't obvious enough that I was praying with the rosary beads in my hands. The fact that he even went as far as calling the police is absolutely ridiculous. Once police arrived he changed his story to not suspicious but now I was "trespassing." The irony of this situation was when police arrived and the pastor had now claimed "trespassing" on PUBLIC property two individuals coming from behind the church were walking their dogs through the parking lot. I pointed that out to both police and the Pastor. This was literally a laughable moment considering the circumstances yet nobody approached them claiming "trespassing." Nonetheless, I'm beyond disgusted with the way I was approached. If you don't want anyone on the premises then maybe do a better job at letting the public know they would be trespassing on the premises through the use of adequate signage in which case no such thing exists on or anywhere near the church premises. This is supposed to be a place of worship to God and that everyone should be welcome here to pray NOT to be "judged" by a member of the church. This is not a good look in terms of relationship with the local community. I will definitely not recommend this establishment after the way I was treated.
