This place is a little gem for history lovers. Tucked away just off Rt 115 this unassuming small building contains a lot of history about the old settlement of Stoddartsville. The place was a thriving milling settlement until the large fire of 1875 burned through the area destroying everything in it's path. I was there with the Pennsylvania Canal Society on a weekend tour of the upper Lehigh navigation and we were surprised to learn that Stoddartsville was the head of navigation at one time for the Lehigh River. I don't know if they regularly take visitors to see the falls, but wow. If you are in the area, be sure to check their website to see when they are open and then make plans to stop in.

We come to this area in the late summer to visit with friends who rent a small home overlooking the Lehigh River Falls. It is beautiful and SO peaceful. Our little dog loves to hike with us to the river and swim.
