The end result of my total knee replacement was accomplished, and I am pleased. Dr Wisner is a great surgeon, yet I cannot give a higher rating because the emotional support and pain management by his office left much to be desired. A TKR is incredibly painful, literally sheer agony, and while you are able to walk on it almost immediately, the healing process is at least 8 weeks and maybe longer. UHS does not offer a "pain management" option for chronic pain suffers this needs to change. I also did not get the follow up attention after surgery that I expected and needed from the office. I truly felt like I was on my own. UHS does offer 'MY Chart' online services but several of my direct messages to PA & RN staff were not responded to. So as far as office support, it could be improved upon, and while Dr Weisner himself is very attentive as a surgeon, the office team is not as cohesive with his standards. I spoke with DR. W, and he assures me that they will strive to do better so patients can thrive and I do believe him. NOTE: The UHS Home Care Team is wonderful and will come to your house to help with P/T and home care needs for 3 weeks after surgery. UHS Physical Therapy after care is also wonderful and caring, but you receive this care only if your insurance provides for it, or out of pocket. Together they do provide the support both emotional and physical that you will need during the first 4weeks while recovering.

Being a Saturday, there was a wonderfully empty parking lot, only one person in waiting room. Check in took less than a minute, and I had literally just sat down when nurse called me in. Took vitals, and dr. Weisner came right in...I was back in my car 13 minutes later.

After Dr. Wiesner operated on a wound on my leg, which was done perfectly, I returned for a follow up visit. He addressed a issue with the best care. Dr Wiesner did a TKR several years ago and it has been perfect. I consider him to be the best doctor in his field.
