I've been always treated with respect! They always went above the call of duty to help me in any way to keep my apartment! Even when the landlord left me with no heat and electrical problems and plumbing problems. They have been the sweetest folks to me!

Questions & Answers

I have a handicap placard and my new landlord knows this but refuses to allow me to park in the parking area just outside my door. He doesn't want to upset the tenants he's had. There is no handicap designated area for those who are, Is this legal ?

No its not legal

What rights do I have as a handicap person when renting? I recently moved and the owner of the building will not allow me to park next to my apartment as he doesn't want to upset other tenants. I have a placard and it seems to not matter to him.

I'm not real sure but when it comes to parking area of private property the landlord within reason can stop you. Your handicap placard is used for public parking not private. Depending on the way the apartment building is set up depends on how and where tenants are allowed to park. Now if your handicap is a physical one you might be able to get help with being able to but it's probably still property owners choice

DO YOU NEED A APPOINTMENT ?

If you are an existing tenant, no, you may walk-in. It may be a bit before you can be seen, so I recommend a call to your housing specialist. If you are not a current tenant, you are welcome to come in to fill out an application. There is a wait list, so your assistance will not begin immediately.
