Having to admit a family member to a nursing is a painful experience. But Andrus makes that decision easier. The facility is clean. The staff is friendly and always professional. I feel that my dad is very well cared for. I am grateful to the staff there.

Having to admit a family member into a nursing home is a big decision and never an easy one. This was especially true for me who had no idea how to go about finding the best one for my elderly father suffering from dementia. And to make things worse, I live over 2,000 miles away so I had to depend on friends and family for advice. I reviewed the Medicare site which provides a ranking of facilities and Andrus on the Hudson is ranked among the four-star group so I moved my dad to Andrus on the Hudson earlier this year and I cannot say enough good things about the staff there.  This is a little smaller facility, clean, and has a small staff. The part I really like is they keep the residents active, get them up every day and out to Arts n Crafts, etc. The nurses there are very sweet and kind to my father, for that I am thankful. If you are actively involved in your loved one's care and visit daily you will see that the nurses are good, and you will get to know them as well. You can't pop in once a week and expect to see them catering to your loved ones every need and a doctor at their bedside. Doesn't work that way. It has been difficult during COIVID as a family member, but they have gone over and above the call of duty to make sure that my father has been accommodated.  I understand that their management team is fairly new, but comes with great experience and I can see the improvements to the facility every time that I visit. Given the challenges of such facilities during this pandemic and shortage in staffing a lot of not only facilities like this one, but hospitals are experiencing, they exceed Nordstrom's in customer service! An exceptionally clean facility exemplifies the high standards they strive to maintain. It is a comfort to know there are truly caring people who are committed to caring for others. My thanks to all the staff.

Do not put your loved one in this facility almost killed my mother pleading with him for weeks that she wasn’t write something was wrong got left out by the doctor they just kept giving her medication and refused to admit her to the hospital beware do not put your loved one in here

On May 21, 2020 my Dad was admitted here for short term p/t.I thought it was a great place . All the staff were on board we communicated well. Case Manager Nicole was great addressed all my concerns. On May 30th she scheduled a care plan meeting for June 4th. A few days later I received a call from Stacey not sure of her tittle. She explained to me his insurance was trying to cut his stay and I should put in a appeal . I did it right away. The insurance (Medicaid)said it can take up to three days to get a response however they wanted him out by June 5th. Stacey said not to worry either way things will be in place for him. The day for the care plan meeting I was waiting for it to start I was informed by Stacey there won’t be a meeting until they were sure insurance would pay. I asked was the plan if he didn’t get approved. She said they would have things in place. Well the insurance didn’t approve him. I picked him up the next morning was given discharge papers with instructions. I waited a week for Americare to show up called them. Guess what no referral, no at home p/t, no home health aide. I called Stacey back she answered and said she going to get back to me . She never called back as of today. I had to take FMLA to try to get things in place for my Dad . He is barely making it. I have no help. Please don’t send ur love ones here if they need short term p/t or any services.
