Quaint, former Santa Fe depot that now serves Amtrak passengers. This station was built in the days when passenger rail was king for travelers, and train travel was portrayed as glamorous and exciting. Wikipedia lists the construction date of the station as 1945, replacing a station dating to 1887. This station is on the former Santa Fe Super Chief route, which ran from Chicago to Kansas City, and on to Albuquerque and Los Angeles. That route was well known for the number of Hollywood luminaries who traveled to and from L.A. via the Super Chief, which was the railroad's flagship passenger train. Platform operations here were efficient for boarding or exiting the train; the stationmaster was friendly. If you want food or drink items before boarding, visit the Casey's (convenience store) just up the street.

Does anyone know where I can find parking long term and how much it is per day. Amtrak website won't give me info for this location.

I believe you can just leave car parked in the parking lot.

Does Amtrak stop here daily for both directions?

There is room to park. Left ours there for 8 days. No issues.

Is there a regular schedule for amtrak travel to LaPlata Missouri from LaPlata maryland?

Darren, You would have to connect through Chicago and take the Southwest Chief to La Plata. The Capitol Limited runs from Washington DC to Chicago. There are several other connections/trains from DC to Chicago. Good luck

You can go to amtrak.com or download the Amtrak app to purchase tickets. If using the app your ticket will be available on there for them to scan or you can print a paper copy.
