I was invited as a member of the Star Wars costuming community to attend the Emporia Public Library & Emporia State's joint May the 4th celebration. This was my first time visiting the Emporia Granda Theatre - it was delightful! The venue itself is from the late 1920s, so it has a ton of character inside. Plenty of free street parking available outside the theatre. The staff were all very friendly. The dressing room featured large mirrors, lights, separate bathrooms for men/women, and even showers. I'll be honest - I felt a bit like a celebrity. I absolutely adored my time visiting the EGT & I hope the kiddos in attendance had a nice time.
