I called to have my 10 yr. old Grandfather Clock serviced. Mainly to have it cleaned and oiled or whatever you do to a clock. When I made the appointment I also said the moon phase dial had stopped moving. I asked Nick about the service charge, and he stated that he didn't believe in them. When Nick came to my house he started working (without giving me an estimate). 1 1/2 hrs. later all is good, chimes are working including the moon dial. After the visit and $220.00 later I never saw the dial move. A few days later I called Palermo's clock repair and left Nick a Message to call me back. When he called back I told him about the moon dial. He said that it was working when he left, and some gear that I know nothing about must be bad. He further stated that he wasn't going to be "Married" to the dial, insinuating that he wasn't going to run back and forth. He said to "watch" it for a few days, and if it doesn't start working to call him back. Guess what? My advice, get an estimate and at least a verbal guarantee. T. Engle I believe that Mr. Palermo was turning the moon dial by hand because it was turning quite fast, I need the clock to do it. Dear Mr. Palermo, Sir, I must indeed apologize for my past review and retract it. My clock and specifically the Moon Dial is now working as it should. He came to my home with his friend worked on my wall clock and charged $150. 00. Clock worked until he left. Pendulum stopped working within 5 minutes after he left. Contacted Nick, made arrangements to contact me once we both returned from our planned time away. I Contacted him upon my return on a Saturday via text message .... never returned a text. The following Saturday I texted again and waited for a return text. Without an answer I texted asking if I was being ignored. He did call while I was driving. Then left a message stating he was not happy about my text message of being ignored. He tried to call again while I was still driving. I do NOT use the phone while driving. When I got home I told my husband. He said just to thank him for what he did the first time but tell him we would find someone else. We also reminded him that a text was sent the week prior with no reply. Sorry to say he acted like an inappropriate as a business person. So at this time I had a clock that did work but stopped intermittently Now I have a clock that does not work at all.
