Tonight was my first experience here, but it definitely won't be my last. With great food, great music, excellent athletes, and family friendly entertainment, the Shady Dale Rodeo had something for everyone in the family tonight. For less than $15 per adult they'll sell you the whole seat, but you'll only need the edge as you cheer on your favorite cowboys and cowgirls as they showcase their skills in everything from barrel racing to bull riding. Perfect for a summer weekend out with the family.

This was actually my first rodeo so I can't compare rodeos. However, I have been to many large events such as this and I will say it may be the best organized event of this size that I have been to. First of all when they say the tickets are $15 that means everything. When you pull in to park, you pay your money, you get your tickets, you are directed to your parking space and you are in. The atmosphere is family, cowboy, and carnival combined. Great fun! I understand that this rodeo is ranked 5th out of 300+ rodeos in the country.

How much to get in? What is there for kids to do and see?

I think it's $15.00 per person. For the kids there are pony rides and there is a section of the rodeo where the kids chase a calf to get a ribbon from the tail to get a prize. You can bring your chairs or a blanket instead of sitting on the bleachers. Best of luck.
