Good variety of plants. I was surprised how many they have for fall.

Beautiful place with a lot to offer. I could spend all day there

I love this place, they have such a wide variety of plants and a very friendly staff. I am mostly writing this review to tell about the experience that I had today with Danuta. She was so helpful and you could tell that she loves her job. I am very picky and probably not very pleasant to deal with but she was very patient with me. She was extremely knowledgeable and helped me choose the perfect planter.

Hi Mary, This certainly sounds like powdery mildew but it seems unusually early in the season for that. We haven’t seen a case yet this year, which doesn’t mean it can’t be, but would be a bit surprising. As always, we would love for you to bring a picture of the plant so we can assess how much of the plant is affected. Also a 6-8” branch sample (in a ziplocked bag) showing what you consider to be the characteristic symptoms. Like going to your physician, it’s hard for us to diagnose online or over the phone to reduce the likelihood of giving a wrong diagnosis.
Hi Lillian, Yes! We grow Hyssop plants. Which variety are you looking for?
Dear Dianne: Thank you for reaching out to Chalet! Reindeer are coming to Chalet this week, on Wednesday, 11/21 to be exact! Here is a link to the list of our holiday events including the arrival of Santa's reindeer. We look forward to celebrating this holiday season together! https://chaletnursery.com/pages/events
Perfect day for fertilizer so the rain can move it into the root region. (Not good for any weed killer though)
Hi Zeba! Thank you for contacting Chalet. Depending on how you're planning to plant "purple" hydrangea (e.g., as part of your landscape vs.in a planter), here are our suggestions: 1) Hydrangea for your landscape: Yes, we do have several varieties that can be purple. These plants will vary between pink and blue, depending on soil acidity. By adding a soil acidifier several times a year, and watering with Aluminum Sulphate (such as Hoffman’s Blue Magic), they should turn blue. With our Lake Michigan water, the blooms will slowly turn purple, then ultimately, to pink. Maintaining a purple bloom, therefore, is relatively challenging; requiring a Soil-ph meter. 2) Hydrangea for your planter: We carry several size options throughout the year, but are currently sold out. Please let us know if you'd like to be notified as soon as they are back in stock. We hope this answers your questions. Let us know if you have any further questions!
