Not enough chairs in the waiting room so people were standing and waiting, did not look clean to me so I left and went to Eisenhower.

Rough Edges

Was I wrong to expect new clean gloves to be used? Lorena wore the same gloves to type, use a mouse and touch counters. She then "cleaned" the area, palpated and drew blood with dirty gloves. After the draw when I realized this I pointed it out to her. She then continued to touch the equipment with contaminated gloves. After suggesting it to her twice she finally changed gloves and wiped down the equipment. Her reply was "They tell us to use one pair of gloves" If your gloves are dirty change them no matter what they say. When I spoke with Chantel she refused to provide the phlebotomist's license number and then said "I have seen much dirtier things happen" If you are hoping for MRSA or some other bloodborne disease this is the place for you!
