The workers there are very rude.

Not a good range. They have pointless rules such as not allowing FMJs on rifle range. This is allowed at every other outdoor and even indoor range I have ever been too. They claim it is for ricochets, but if that is the case, build a better backstop that won’t send fragments back toward the shooter. I believe this a ploy to make you pay for their over priced ammo. Do not waste your time or money. One star is for pity.

Been a member for 20 years. Favorite outdoor range.

I have been going to this range for the last 2 years and recommend it. Also have taken my kids here based on the overall expectations on safety, helpful staff, and the variety of shooting stations. Yes, there's a 5 minute range safety video required of all 1st timers. Respect their rules and you'll have a great time!

The present rates are $25 for a lifetime range card and $25 for all-day access. There is no membership; the range card indicates that you have taken the initial safety training (which is a short video). You can shoot as many or types of weapons as you want on as many lanes or types of lanes as you want. You can come and go. Range does not charge by the hour, by the lane, by the weapon, or by the shot (some clay ranges). First time there it costs you $50 and every time thereafter it is only $25. No licenses are required. You will be asked for something so that they can look you up if you ever lose your range card. A replacement range card is only $5. I have seen foreigners without US identification there who are able to rent and fire a weapon, because there is no legal reason that they cannot.
There is an LTC bay for use with an instructor. Pistol lanes are 7, 15, and 25 yards. Rifle lanes are 50, 100, 200, and 300 yards with several combination lanes. Eight shotgun clay throwers. One shotgun box range for checking patterns, rapid fire, or fun. Lanes and targets are lit at night. You can use your own targets but they must be paper or cardboard. No metal downrange. Targets can only be placed on the frames provided at the set distances mentioned.
Yes.
Yes.
One second between shots on the pistol and rifle lanes due to a ruling by a Travis County judge who does not believe that one can control a weapon if shooting any faster.
No. The Range Safety Officer can answer questions and help if you have problems, but they do not instruct. Folks just arrange with their own instructors and meet them at the range.
Did you call the range to ask?
Yes the have dedicated space for shooting skeet. 6 traps and covered stations. Bring your own clay birds, or you can purchase from Eagles Peak.
Yes.
Yes. The ammo must be soft or hollow point. Or ballistic tip.
10 AM to 8 PM every day, regardless of the holiday.
1000, every day including holidays. The only time I remember the range not open was due to icing on the roads, otherwise it opens every day of the year.
You are allowed to collect YOUR OWN spent casings if you shoot that day. Personally, I don't use reloads at all.
Yes, the reason why is FMJ does not deform if it hits an object and the round ricochets, at the same time the round maintains its energy, as a result, it put out neighbors in danger of being hit by the ricochet, or damage to their property.
Five bucks homie!
Not sure what people were expecting, Eagle Peak is a great range that has no frills just shooting. If you want some pretentious frapachino gluten free pompous range full of wanna be commandis and operators doing fancy gun drills join the military if you want a great range to hone your shooting and dial in your sights with a employees that know their stuff come to Eagle Peak.
