I have been camping and making memories at this campground since I was a little boy!! Great to see the place hasn't hardly changed in 25 yrs. Lake is very clean and Everyone at the campground is very nice !! Staff are very friendly and very helpful if you need anything.

We visited with the Chamber of Commerce. They were closed due to the time of year. The scenery was gorgeous and it's obvious they have lots of shade in the open season. They have a nice sandy beach for swimming too. The majority of their sites are seasonal but still have sites avaliable for short term stays.

We felt the best part was the beach. Sandy and not weedy in the swim area. The playground park was okay but we wished it had more things for the kids. The camping spots are close together and narrow but very long making parking easy. The public showers/bathrooms weren’t clean and the lady at the desk wasn’t pleasant at check in. The campground is in a great location and easy to access from highway 10. Overall we had a good time and spent a lot of our time at the beach.

Great location, lovely beach. A wonderful option if you want to be in Detroit Lakes with easy access to the fun things to do in town, without being in the heart of loud, crazy tourist central. This place is 45 some years old and it shows. It's well loved, the seasonal site owners passionately love this place and are all like a giant family. It could use some updates, especially the bathrooms. The streets are pretty narrow and should be made one-ways. The lady who owns the place comes across as pretty grumpy and rude, but she's just old. The son who helps out is very helpful. They're obviously doing fine as they're booked nearly every weekend, but I'd happily pay a bit more for cleaner showers.

Yes, there are a limited number of full (sewer)hook up sites. They are unable to have full hookup sites near the lake, however, they do have 'honey wagons' to assist in disposal in sites that don't have sewer hookups. ALL sites have water and electricity.
You would have to give the nice folks there a call. I was only there for winter storage.

All I can say is I like the place ok. But I camp in a motorhome.
