Rented a beach cabin and lock didn’t work upon arrival. When it was brought to front desks attention the response was “yeah I know, did you want someone to look at it?” Why did we even receive a key to the cabin if the lock didn’t work? And why was this not a big deal to anybody? After this and a phone call later and another front desk visit, no one EVER came to look at it. It was very clear they didn’t care about the safety of their guests. This place was unknown to me and I felt uncomfortable at night. We rigged the furniture in front of the slider at night… The service in the restaurant was bad. Waitress had no time management skills between tables. Food was ok. The tiki bar was closed by 3pm on a Sunday..? And clearly no management over the teens who run the place. Group of annoying teenagers causing havoc and cursing nonstop at the aqua pad. Lifeguards had no control and took random breaks and closed it before 6pm. Cool idea and the kids had fun but not good management. Good day trip I guess, but not worth staying a night.

Whatever positives there are about the campground, and there are many, are all wiped out by the train. It blows its horn 4 times each time it passes the campground as there is a crossing right next to it. All day and night. About every 20-40 minutes. If I can’t sleep, I can’t enjoy the fun. A lot of families here with littles. I don’t know how they get their kiddos to sleep through it. Maybe the resort should buy the house on the other side of the tracks and tear it down and eliminate the crossing. Again, great amenities, lots to do for a fun weekend. Area is beautiful. But I need sleep!!

For the restaurant, the outside seating has a nice deck with an excellent view of the river and bluffs. The food choices are midrange good, overall the food has been very good for bar, recently I’ve had the coconut shrimp and the pulled pork sandwich, which I would recommend. My wife had the summer salad (w/ cranberries and pecans…) and was pleased the choice. Service people have been inexperienced, the last few times there, but good.

Place looks fun. I work for the railroad and go b here all the time (day and night). It is true that we are required by federal law to sound the horn at the public crossing there. It shouldn't be too bad though. You'll get used to it (as I am). I plan on bringing my family here for a weekend soon!

10.00 during week & 15.00 on weekends
There are both, but you have to camp to get swim passes at the pool. Beach is 15 bucks
Monday through Thursday is less than Friday through Sunday. During the week I think it's only around $20.... Weekend maybe $30-40
You can go to the website and they have all prices listed
As opposed to distance running in a city?! I am not a runner, so I dont completely understand what you are asking. Coconut Cove is located on a backroad, a few miles off a 4 lane highway. Hope that helps!
They are adding new spots & pouring cement & constantly adding more camping. There are different spots & varying cost, it would be best to call. It's a GREAT place with amazing views!
There is a couple of slot machines in the bar at Coconut Cove. There are a 2 casinos in Dubuque about 7 miles away from coconut cove.
