Anissa is who you can get the best massage experience. Very professional, she knows the best trigger point that helps you release you pain and tension in your muscles, sometimes uncomfortable waist can be the aftermath of tighten hip muscles and she knows them all. After I met her, I never go to other massage places nearby. Sometimes her appointments may be hard to book, but she is soooo goood that I am willing to wait for a week for a availability.

I discovered Jennifer when I first moved to Utah, and my body was really in distress. I have seen dozens of different body workers of all sorts in my life, and one session with Jen was one of the most powerfully healing I have ever received. I highly recommend her!

I received a Massage from Jennifer. The day of my massage I was feeling terrible and I almost cancelled (I have severe COPD). I wasn't breathing very well that day and my entire body was weak, tired, and every muscle in my back was aching. She started out slowly, while I was sitting up ( as I had difficulties laying down because my oxygen saturations would drop). She was very sweet and would ask how I was doing throughout the massage. After about eight minutes, I was completely relaxed, my breathing was increasingly better, and I was able to fully lay down to receive the rest of my massage. She used cups (I believe that is the term?) on my middle, upper, and lower back, where my lungs are located and she did other techniques to get my lungs working better, blood moving and air flowing better ( I think?). The massage felt wonderful. It was by far "The Best Massage" that I have ever had and I have had many. When she was done I felt 95% better. My breathing was good, I had energy that I have been lacking for a few months, and my pain level went way down. I felt great for weeks afterwards. I never feel very feel good, since I do have a terminal illness, but after her massage. I felt better than I have in a very long time. Jennifer is amazing and knows what she is doing. I can't wait until my next massage with her.

Is it ok to get a massage while pregnant?

Therapeutic Massage & Wellness Center | Oct 9, 2020
Therapeutic Massage & Wellness Center | Oct 9, 2020

We often have pregnant women come in for massage, or even a regular massage schedule throughout their pregnancy. Massage can help ease the tension and discomfort that comes with the rapid changes that are occurring. Our clients report that pain in their feet, neck, and other areas, including sciatica, are eased, they feel calmer, and they sleep better. Before scheduling a massage, please confirm with your doctor whether massage therapy is ideal for you.

What do I wear for my massage?

Your comfort is our highest priority. With this in mind, you may disrobe to your personal comfort level. Your massage therapist will leave the room while you get ready and slide under a soft opaque sheet. They will maintain your modesty as they progress through your massage, skillfully working one area at a time (back, legs, arms). If you are comfortable doing so you may disrobe completely, or you may wear shorts or underwear. We do recommend that you remove all of your upper clothing so that we may use oils on your back and work those muscles more thoroughly.

What is the process of a massage like?

On your first visit we will have you fill out a form to help us understand your history and what you are currently experiencing. On future visits we will get a verbal update from you in order to plan the best approach for each session. Once we know what your main issue is we will determine if we should start you face-up or face-down. Typically we will start from your head and move downward. If you have problem areas, we will address them as we go, or go directly to them, giving them the focus and time they need for the best result. If we have time, or you request it, we’ll give you a full-body massage. Depending on your needs, massage sessions ideally range from 60-90 minutes to allow for full-body relief, and specific focus on trouble spots. Shorter and longer sessions are also available, as are massage packages to give you more bang for your buck, and to give your body greater benefit. You can discuss the best options for you with your Massage Therapist.

Should I give feedback when I get a massage?

Therapeutic Massage & Wellness Center | Oct 9, 2020
Therapeutic Massage & Wellness Center | Oct 9, 2020

We do ask that you give us input during the course of your massage for the very best results. Our therapists have the education and experience to help your body feel its best, but you know your own body and how it feels better than anyone else ever could. Your therapist may give you specific guidance on how to keep them informed. As a general rule, we appreciate simple input in regard to the pressure, such as: “less/lighter”, “it feels good”, “more/deeper”, etc.

Should I tip for a massage?

Therapeutic Massage & Wellness Center | Oct 9, 2020
Therapeutic Massage & Wellness Center | Oct 9, 2020

As with many service industries a 15-20% tip is customary, though not obligatory. If you choose to tip you may do so according to what is within your budget and your satisfaction with the service you have received.

What should I do after my massage session?

Because your muscles have just released many wastes they need assistance in moving them out of your body as quickly as possible. Within the two hours following your massage, we recommend drinking 32-40 ounces of pure water. This will immediately dilute the toxins that are now swirling around your system, as well as rapidly flushing them to the exits. Through the course of the day, continue to take slow, deep breaths to oxygenate your muscles, as well as doing gentle stretching to keep them warm and loose. Your Massage Therapists may have specific recommendations for you after they've assessed what your body needs, and you may also ask for stretches or other suggestions.

What should I expect to feel after my massage session?

Therapeutic Massage & Wellness Center | Oct 9, 2020
Therapeutic Massage & Wellness Center | Oct 9, 2020

There are three ways a person typically feels after a first-time massage: 1. You may float off the massage table and out our door feeling relieved and relaxed. 2. You may feel a good muscle soreness, as if you’ve been working out, and a sense of having gotten to the root of the issue. This is due to the lactic acid and other wastes being worked out of your muscles during your session. 3. Because your system is unloading so much waste you may feel a bit of a headache or mild nausea. This response is quite PREVENTABLE, and is the reason we advise you to drink plenty of water and take slow deep breaths to cleanse your body.

How frequently should I get a massage?

Therapeutic Massage & Wellness Center | Oct 9, 2020
Therapeutic Massage & Wellness Center | Oct 9, 2020

This varies from person to person depending on your individual circumstances. In the case of whiplash or other injury you may choose to come in 1-3 times a week for up to six weeks, and then spread them out as needed. Many individuals come anywhere from weekly to monthly to keep their stress under control and maintain their health. Others come for special occasions, or to manage chronic pain and tension when it flares up. We offer packages to save you money and keep you on track with the goals you have in mind. Discuss the best scenario for you with your Massage Therapist.

Hello, could you please tell me if you could give me and advice that I've got a midlle finger numbed and I'm wondering if you performed any therapy for this casecasenumbness?

Sonya Madrigal | Oct 10, 2019
Therapeutic Massage & Wellness Center | Oct 9, 2020

Hi Sonya~ Thank you for reaching out. We would need to understand more about how your finger came to be numb (an injury, a tweak, just waking up that way, etc), how long it has been the case, and what your doctor has said about it. Sometimes when muscles are extremely tight or the body is out of alignment, issues of pain or numbness can occur. If it is more of a soft tissue/muscle issue than another type of injury or trauma, massage can be of great help. Even if it is an issue that needs to be addressed by a doctor or chiropractor, massage can usually bring you some relief and help you heal more quickly. If you would like to discuss this in more detail please feel free to contact us, or schedule a massage session to see how your finger feels after a session. I hope your hand feels better soon!
