I am a member of the Backus American Legion. You will find it to be a friendly place. The drinks are reasonably priced, in the $3.00 to $3.50 range. Typical bar food is available, pizza, and a variety of deep fried entrees and snacks. There are no grilled foods available, except on special occasions. Our meat raffle is held every Friday night at 5:30 pm. Come and have an enjoyable evening.

This is the best legion I've ever encountered. Be nice and you will be surprised by how the friendly townspeople of Backus will reward you even if they've never seen you before. The commander will more than likely introduce himself and point you in the right direction anyway. He's a fun and very social person ! If you can hit a meat raffle on Friday, get in as close to 5 as you can. If you're lucky, and win 3 or more times, you'll get a nice pig hat and sign to wear for a friendly "Meat Hog" pic. You're set for the week at that point, so don the gear with a great big smile and join the ranks of many who have been there before you.

Great place to enjoy a beer and pizza with our armed services veterans. I'm glad they have a place they can get together. They deserve it
