Probably is a good trail but wouldn’t know. Started from parking lot and followed the yellow markers for Horseshoe trail. At around half a mile in, a large “PRIVATE PROPERTY: NO TRESPASSING” sign is in the middle of the trail. Im sure some people continue on, but you just don’t know these days so we didn’t risk it. We turned around and went home.

The section heading west from here has three plus miles on the road sucked but once you get to the wooded section it is great hiking. The section going east goes through State forest land and some private land before it comes to Birdsboro Preserve and then onto French Creek State Park.

Mostly private property with a single trail

The Horseshoe Trail is one of the best trails in SE Pennsylvania, traveling west from Valley Forge National Military Park and ending just outside Harrisburg, PA on the Appalachian Trail. Scenic back roads, state parks, state forests, state game lands, private property with trail easement, horses on the trail, you see it all! Worth checking it all out!

Yes, horses are allowed on the trail.
Theoretically yes, there are places you can camp overnight. The best place is the Buck Hollow Tract of the William Penn State Forest, as you can primitive camp anywhere. The guidebook the conservancy sells has a list of campgrounds and other places you an stay overnight. http://hstrail.org/trail/guidebook/
