We have just begun the process of solar panel installation and up to this point everything has gone as smooth as glass. We are very pleased and are looking forward to having this addition to our home. We've waited a long time to take this step and are very glad to have found Smart Wave Solar to facilitate the process.

10/1/22 UPDATE - Another month has past and my system is still not fully functioning correctly. Smart Wave Solar has been to my house a few times and made some adjustments; however, still not permanent, and correct operation. I have not heard anything from the Smart Wave nor Sonnen (the battery manufacturer) in several weeks. I asked to work with a new project manager, because the one assigned to my project us useless and does not responsd to anything. I was told my project manager was not going to be changed, so i get to work through a customer service email and hope someone gets back with me at their convenience. Poor poor poor, customer service!!!! The longer this goes on, the less faith I have in Smart Wave and the more I start thinking I may need legal assistance to get corrective action in a timely manner. 2 months ago, Smart Wave responded to my post saying they were going to get my problem fixed and they would post an update. You can see that there is no update from Smart Wave, because they don’t have anything to show after 2 months of nothing. 8/24/22 UPDATE — Frustrated, does no justice to explain my feelings toward Smart Wave. Although the project is not finished, and my $20,000 sonnen battery is completely dead in the water, Smart Wave doesn’t send their customer feedback surveys to me anymore. They are truly making it obvious that they are not really concerned about getting things right. Smart Wave has been paid in full by the credit union, therefore doesn’t have a lot of motivation to get things working. I asked one of the owners for help, through a text, and the response said they were in lake Powell and to send their support branch an email. I did as I was asked and didn’t receive a response to my email and the owner chose not to take any time to follow up to see if the issue was resolved, which it wasn’t and still has not been. Smart wave continues to blame sonnen for all my problems and says sonnen doesn’t have any customer service. Hmmm, sounds like a company named smart wave that i have been painfully dealing with since March 2022. 8/6/22 Update - a full week has gone by and no contact from Smart Wave. I am still purchasing power from the grid daily. Smart Wave has all their money. Bank is taking their monthly payments from my account. Rocky Mountain power is sending me a bill, and I’m sure they are going to want money from me also. I pay pay pay, but keep hearing Smart Wave say they can’t get straight answers from sonnen and they are still looking into things. I received a call from one of Smart Wave’s top officials on 22 July. It was a greatly appreciated and much needed conversation based on numerous and lengthy issues with the installation of my system and the system not functioning fully. On 27 July, I received a visit from a Smart Wave employee to look into some of the issues with my system’s functionality. The visit resulted in the decision to re-locate the CTs of the system to the main panel, which is what I have been asking for since the day the sonnen battery was installed. Hopefully Smart Wave and Sonnen stay committed to getting my system fully functional so I stop buying power from Rocky Mountain Power every day. PREVIOUS POST - Equipment is installed, bank sent money to Smart Wave, and my system is not functioning properly. I’ve been trying to get smart wave to fix the problem since the fist of July, and it’s still not functioning properly. No one knows what’s going on. Sonnen doesn’t return phone calls or voicemails so they are of no help either. Bank expects their payment to start in a week, but why did the bank pay smart wave for a non-functioning system? The bank says they only care if the equipment is installed, not if it works! REALLY?! I have spent enough money on a non-functioning solar system, to pay for a new Tesla, and I am still buying power from Rocky Mountain Power every day!

When I changed my ISP recently, all the internet connections were broken that allowed SmartWaveSolar and Sunny Portal to monitor my system. I am not particularly computer savvy but with the prompt help of Ashley Monson, Mak Watson, and field tech Akana, from SmartWaveSolar Support, the issue was quickly resolved and I am very pleased.

Jake did a great job getting me set up, got me the loan application and walked me through the details and helped me setup a roofer so I can get my roofing done before the solar install.

Smart Wave Solar was organized in July 2019, so 13 months officially. However, the original partner (Justin) got his start with “Bland Solar” in California about 10 years ago and has very extensive experience. We’ve grown fast and have over 40 employees, a master electrician, general contractor, and many other employees who have come from other solar companies. Our team has decades of combined solar experience. We have a total of 4 partners. Justin, mention above. Bretton, the previous CEO of Accolo. Gary, who has owned one or more Valpak franchises for the last 30+ years (including Valpak in Salt Lake and Utah Counties). And myself (Ryan), also a partner in Valpak for the last several years. We have vast experience running businesses and taking excellent care of customers. We have dozens of references available upon request, including customers, suppliers, and lenders. If you’re in the market for solar, we’ll take excellent care of you as you can see from our reviews!

We need to have our home re-shingled. Do you remove and reinstall solar panels?

We’ve identified the best roofing companies in the area (on price and quality) to work with on that. We can even bundle it into your solar loan if you’d like.
