We were driving along the coast headed to California and wanted to find a cheap campsite nearby, so we drove into Rogue River- Siskiyou National Forest. We had two campsites in mind so we headed towards them. Luckily, we found a free site in lobster creek campground which was the first one on the road. They only had 7 sites and we were expecting them to be full as it was almost 4pm by the time we arrived. They had 2 tent only sites and the rest were regular camper sites. The campsite itself was very small as you can guess, not the best toilets and the water was a bit yellow which was weird. But it had a nice river boat access area which you could wander down to for a nice walk. We decided to stay because the other campsite we wanted to go to was another 15 min drive or so and we were just staying one night. I wouldn't recommend more than one night stay as its a bit of a basic campsite but it got the job done. The drive to the campsite was really lovely too and you also pass this beautiful bridge while on lobster creek road. We were here in mid Sept which meant it was pretty quiet and were able to get a spot. It's a nice way to venture up a river and see one of Oregon's forests.
