About eight years ago, my Dad passed away. Mom, in her 80's, needed help cleaning out years/decades of accumulation.This took me a few weeks and I decided not to stick my own kids with this distasteful and dusty task when my time comes. Neither my dad nor I were actual 'hoarders," but it's what people do. We all have "stuff." I brought numerous boxes of my "stuff", mostly sports cards, collectibles, and Sports Illustrated games, to the Dutch Country's offices in Wilmington, Delaware. Russ and his most courteous staff helped carry some heavy boxes up a flight of stairs where Russ quickly inventoried my items. I was impressed by how carefully he treated my mostly routine items. His younger employees carried some boxes but mostly, it was owner Russ! Good energy there. After a few months, my items were listed in their 108 page catalog, pictued below, which contained 14 pages of just photographs of items for sale, for distribution to potential buyers. All my items were then sold in bulk, at auction. I'm currently preparing another lot (my in-law's "stuff") to bring to Dutch Country in exchange for some cash, which is something I can always use. A big thank you to Russ and his helpful, friendly staff.
