On the one hand, this is a fantastic public resource with incredible documents available free of charge. We are very lucky to have it. On the other, it’s a big shame that everyone I have met that works here, whilst friendly, is extremely unknowledgeable about what is in the archives. It would be most helpful if they could hire an actual historian or someone with an interest in what is stored in this treasure trove.

No, they do not have birth certificates, only birth records on microfilm from 1893-1910, For birth certificates you would have to contact the Pennsylvania State Vital Records
