My family and I are incredibly disappointed in this facility. My grandmother was transferred here from the hospital Friday afternoon to be on a 6 week course of antibiotics before the Labor Day weekend. When we got there, no one introduced themselves to us or explained the process as this was our first experience at a rehab facility. My mother had to go and ask who was in charge/find a nurse as we wanted to speak with them and ensure my grandmother was attended too. We left that evening and returned the next day. There was still no sense of staff around to assist however, we noticed my grandmother wasn't as alert as she was the previous day. We assumed she was just tired but then on our Sunday visit, we were told when we got there that my grandmother refused to take her medication the night before. She was in no condition to even refuse such a thing so the nurses were lying. She was not responsive at all at this time. We were in shock to see her in this condition as she was barely able to lift her head, she couldn't speak or open her eyes. She was doing much better once she left the hospital and was NOT in this state. She has had diabetes for many years and has never not taken her medication so we didn't understand why the nurses didn't notify us the night before (or even first thing in the AM) of this as that would have been something we flagged as a concern. The nurses were looking at us like we were overreacting and stated that we shouldn't rush her to the hospital (& to let her stay since the next day was Monday for her scheduled dialysis) and the nurse even stated "we bring our patients in this condition to dialysis all the time". We waited a few hours as we were in shock but then trusted our gut and called an ambulance. Come to find out that my grandmother had a stroke while she was at the rehab facility that Saturday night. The issue is that no one notified us of her declining condition. There was no doctor on site (most likely due to the holiday) and the only thing the unskilled nurses recommended was to "zoom in the doctor". We knew right then that this facility did not have my grandmother's health in their best interest and she was not priority to them. The Assistant Admin, Nicole Silva, in fact called my mother on Monday to essentially introduce herself and check in with us, not even knowing that my grandmother left the facility and was unresponsive at the hospital due to their staff's negligence. We wish that this facility had trained staff to notify families of their patient's condition in a timely fashion. We wished they had trained nurses and doctors present and visible assisting the patients. Not to even mention the facility is outdated looking but we wish they cared for our loved one. We wish they notified us right away as we would have visited earlier instead of just coming Sunday afternoon. If we knew that her condition declined rapidly Saturday night, we would have came first thing Sunday morning. Thank God, we visited her because we would have never been told what was going on. Thankfully, we did made that decision to remove her from this facility as she was able to come too after a few days at the hospital. Unfortunately, her condition worsened and she passed away the following week. Our family is devastated of her loss and we are disgusted in AristaCare at Cedar Oaks' neglect and slow response time that resulted in a dangerous and deadly situation. We plan on sending a official complaint however, we are still grieving and can't believe this even occurred.

I am currently a resident here at Aristacare cedar oaks, and I am TIRED OF THE LIES. Steven the administrator has done nothing to help change this place. They lie online and show pretty pictures when In reality everything is a hot mess. The state doesn’t care so why should the staff care? there are certain people who do their job but it doesn’t change the fact that the majority do not. There’s not enough staff, the food is disgusting and it’s just getting worse everyday. We have feelings, needs and wants. Good luck to the residents who aren’t able to vocalize what they need because they for sure are not getting proper care. Broken appliances, chairs, tables etc. Thank you.

As someone that has personally stayed at AristaCare at Cedar Oaks, I would like to say that, the nursing staff always went above and beyond in their duties to make sure I got my medicine when I woke up and when it was time. They always let me sleep in so I could wake up extra refreshed and there were even people who would always answer the call bell when the nurses and nursing assistants weren’t available. Doctors were great, and the building staff was extremely hospitable and continuously made themselves available. They were always willing to go the extra mile to find solutions to any problems that I had like becoming mobile with my walker and wheelchair and becoming educated on my newly diagnosed diabetes. The admin staff was proactive in helping me find benefits that I could be qualified for due to the new life challenges I was facing. The cleaning staff was excellent and always had a smile on their faces even while they were cleaning and often encouraged me to remain positive despite my life's challenging circumstances. The Front desk staff didn't just do their jobs, they provided emotional support for my visiting family who was concerned about my well-being. Physical therapists and Recreational aides provided some of my favorite experiences at the rehab. My stay here changed my life. I will never be the same person going out, as I was coming in. Cedar Oaks made an impact in my life and because of it, I will forever be changed.

This is the WORST facility that we've ever seen. The staff didn't care about anything or anyone. They ignored every patient when they needed aid. They were inconsiderate, irresponsible and it was obvious that they were only there to collect a paycheck. Even the EMTs that came when we had to call 911 told us that this was the worst place to bring anyone and leaving there was the best thing to do for our loved one. DON'T BRING ANYONE THAT YOU LOVE THERE!!!
