If you're tired of the madness of Broadway and bands playing cover songs, the Commodore Grill is a place you must check out. The food, service, and of course the music was awesome. Singers and songwriters performing their own music. Best night we had in Nashville.

There's a few places like dual pianos on Broadway ... the Commodore has it's own baby grand piano outside...and a few other venues that you can sign up to either do your set or jam with others...best of luck...
It depends on the age of your children. If your children are under the age of 10 years old, the Live music and constant drinking audience, may be too much for younger children.

I didn't find any free parking in the area. I'd just park and pay the daily rate. The lot is well lit and, to be honest, based on an experience my son and I had while walking back from dinner at a local restaurant you probably want your car in the lot. We were repeatedly asked if we wanted to buy drugs while the guy followed us about 2 blocks back to the hotel.
Live bands are right in front of the seating area. Small location relatively so everything is right there for you
