Waste of money for Illinois. Govenor says he lives there but he does not. Most of their governors never do stay there. Tax payers seem to be stuck paying for upgrades and maintenance of the building. Just ridiculous!!

Tour Overview: The Governor’s Mansion is open to the public for tours daily from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM. Walk-up tours will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. The last walk up tour will depart at 4:00 PM. All tours start at the Jackson Street gate, which is located on the north side of the Mansion between 4th and 5th Streets. Tour length is approximately one hour and may vary depending on age and size of group.

Street parking is available on 4th St. and 5th St. Meters will get you up to two hours of parking for one dollar.

Parking: Parking is available at metered spaces on Fourth and Fifth Street near the Mansion. Also, the Dana-Thomas House parking lot, which is located nearby at the intersection of Cook Street and Third Street, may be used while visiting the Mansion. This free lot is about a five minute walk to the Mansion.
