Great time with friends! The river was super low this time around making tubing more difficult but we still had a blast.

Despite what their website says, this river is NOT for beginner kayakers/canoers. It is narrow, shallow, with tons of rocks and logs. I have been kayaking for over 20 years and I found it challenging. Staff was friendly. However we had 5 kids 8 and under. In the past the smaller ones have all ridden in our laps, however they would not allow us to do so stating DNR laws, although I cannot find such laws and no one has ever stopped us before. Having to switch from Kayaks to canoes which were more difficult was frustrating, especially since they didn't tell us until we were loaded in the kayaks.

Kinda disorganized launch... but we loved the 5 hour paddle with 5 adults and 4 kids under 8. A couple of challenging spots but super fun day with plenty of rest stops along the time

We had such a good time kayaking thanks to Campbell's! It was both mine and my friend's first time solo kayaking and it was such a great experience. When we arrived they had a shuttle ready to follow us to our end point. We went and dropped off our car and were shuttled back to the main takeoff point. Our kayaks were ready to go. Did I mention the entire time we had our 85lb puppy with us? They are completely dog friendly and even helped me get her into the kayak with me. Awesome staff and service. We cannot wait to come back!

18$for a closed tube for 3 hours
Yes! Dogs are welcome in canoes and kayaks. However, we do not allow dogs in the rental tubes (nails will pop the tube!)
As of right now they are only taking reservations and they are only open on Friday through Sunday. My siblings and I tried going this past Wednesday and they weren't open.
30 tandem and 33 one person I believe
Where we put in they told us it was about 2hr on the river
Not like some areas that have picnic tables and stops set up, but small sandy areas you can pull aside and eat a sandwich you've packed and swim, yes.
Hi Jerry, Meads landing is 10 miles from South Higgins Lake State Park. The landing is on Steckert Bridge Road between Rainbow Dr and Riverview Ct. Its only 1 mile from Roscommon. I hope this helps! - The Campbell's Canoe Livery Team
