Dear Charlie (aka Charles, Chuck :) ) I cannot thank you enough for accommodating me on such short notice. You are a good man who can carry on a nice conversation. Folks, I'm learning how to kiteboard and this campsite is just what I needed after a long day at Tawas Point. Quiet, quaint and peaceful and my dog was welcomed with open arms. The bathroom was clean and odorless, the showers have been renovated/newly tiled and the bathroom stalls were up to par. I've camped from Oregon to North Carolina and can not say one bad thing about this campground. I look forward to bringing my son and husband up with me one day to enjoy this place, but for now, it'll be just me while I take my lessons. Cheers to you, Charlie for making such a peaceful place to lay our heads.

Love camping here .. quiet relaxing and friendly people Been able to camp here for 4year camping and the new owners have remodeled the bathroom and new washer and dryers. Campers are very nice to everyone one invites you to their fires at night. And offers up a liquid refreshment. Peaceful nice to see the wildlife come though.

Kicking people out for no reason. Talking about tenants behind their back. Promised rentable campers and instead of calling to let know the camper is broken, let us come all the way up then tell us. We had to make other arrangements for the weekend at the last minute. New owners only care about the people who like them. So if you don’t want to talk and have them at your camp fire every night don’t go.

Awesome Campground for seasonal stays and weekend rentals. Friendly campers and great owners! Quiet park close to the beaches

Shady Oaks does not have canoeing on site. However, there are quite a few locations, such as Lake Huron and the Au Sable river within a 30 minute drive.
