Bent Halo
I want to be thankful for the free food they gave me. I tried to eat it but I could not. I could smell it was spoiled but I was hungry, so I ate it but my body rejected and I vomited. The chicken smelled so bad and was slimy, the rice was undercooked and rock hard. Who ever cooked it doesnt know how to cook rice or anything, seem like they didn't care or taste it, probably cuz they were scared too or its below them. It was worse than dog food.

By no means do we feel like we are here to solve every problem, nor do we believe we are keeping people on the streets by doing what we do. Our desire is to offer dignity, food help, free clothes and ultimately, hope. We don’t claim to rescue anyone from their situation, but instead love them where they are and journey with them if and when invited to do so. We seek to get to know our guests better and refer them to agencies when possible who will help them work through life’s circumstances and get back on their feet, if that is something they want to do. Otherwise, our intention is to be a friend. It’s amazing how most of the time, people just want someone who will listen. The power of relationship is what we have seen to be incredibly impactful.
Our volunteers and supporters represent a wide array of various churches and denominations. We also have volunteers that do not claim to be Christ followers and serve alongside us. We are passionate in learning about Jesus’ way of servanthood and working in unity to love more like he does, but we certainly don't require anything but an open and willing heart to engage those who are in need.
Yes. We are a licensed 501c3 Non Profit.
No, we do not serve Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless, nor do we serve a Christmas meal. However, we believe there is power in consistency so we have weekly outreaches to bring relief, community, & connection. Rain or shine, tornado sirens or snow storms, you'll find us serving.
Our chef does the meal planning and shops for ingredients using monetary donations. We also have partners that will donate meals for certain programs.

PLN hosts several opportunities to volunteer with the homeless in Nashville, TN. Our most common time to volunteer is on Mon nights during our Monday Night Street Outreach. Mon nights are flexible with volunteer times varying between 3pm, 5pm, and 6pm arrival times. Monday Night Outreach is an opportunity to help serve food to the homeless, provide clothing donations, and most importantly, we build community and friendships with our friends on the streets. Through linking arms with other partners, our friends can receive free haircuts (Nashville Street Barbers), and free showers (ShowerUp), and more. We also host Wed & Fri Restoration Outreaches where we serve an apartment complex where many friends have recently found stable housing.
