Went to celebrate a birthday with friends the food was great! I got the raspberry martini and my friend got the sour apple martini both awesome! Staff was accommodating with my meal as I don't eat onions or mushrooms!

Going to Oishi Hibachi & Sushi Bar, we did not expect anything fancy. The building looks homey, so it was a comfortable experience. The customer service was top-tier with great accommodation and conversation. Our large group was perfectly entertained, especially by our server and chef. Though we can be the most rambunctious of people, the staff took it in stride. They were a great treat for my mother’s Birthday Outing. Though we picked this restaurant last minute, it reached the standard for everyone in both food and service. Everyone was happy but me. I held it in since I was happy with the service and my mother being happy. The food, however, was not to my standards. The rice and chicken hibachi lunch I had tasted of smoke. Chewing the meal was crunchy. Since I do not like wasting my food, I took it home to eat leftovers and nearly heaved the food up for how strong the smoke smell and crunch was. I could not enjoy my food. However, my family loved the food, so I do not know if it was my tastebuds or something else. Tasting my mother’s steak was much better than the chicken and rice I ordered. Overall, I was happy if my mother happy. She was especially when the restaurant gave her a chocolate drizzled cheesecake on the house for dessert. The staff even came to sing for her. It was a very happy day for my mother, and I could not wish for more. Though the food was not good for me, it was for my mother, and she deserves the world. Thank you, Oishi for doing that.

This is probably the worst place I’ve been in Hattiesburg Mississippi. The food is overpriced for the quality. When I asked the worker in the sit in dining area for something else since the food I received was so bland and overcooked, he looked at me liked I was stupid and just walked off. I was so embarrassed and he made me feel like asking for something decent was the worst thing he’s ever heard. When we were proceeding to leave after this, a little roach, you know, the nasty ones, crawl along the wall and onto our table. I will most likely not be coming back until they have an actual clean restaurant and better food.

The food was great and plentiful. Our waiter was AWESOME! He was funny, courteous and helpful. He even brought our 9 y.o. daughter a free special drink from Japan free. The building is old and dated, but the good and service more than make up.fir it and best of all it was VERY affordable.
