After traveling around the country I've concluded this place has some of the most outrageous prices I've ever seen on some items (not all). Particularly price gouging was the price of kombucha. $6!!! You can buy a liter of kombucha some some co-OP for that price. I have never known any store to have the audacity to charge anywhere near that much. About twice the cost of anywhere else, including the co-op on 3rd st, a few blocks away, who's prices on most items are about half of Markus. I also bought a newspaper that I found out later that day was the previous days edition so it's not like you're paying for a premium experience..although the deli is super clean and the overpriced deli food was pretty good.
