When first walking into the lobby it was nice & cool and smelled nice. It seemed to have been upgraded, possibly recently. The woman at the front desk wasn't specifically friendly but wasn't rude, just seemed like she wanted to be done for the day. I arrived closer to 5pm and was exhausted myself. When I got in my room I was immediately hit with warm, moist, moldy air and odor. I went directly to the AC to turn it down. It is Louisiana and I realize it's hot and muggy out, so I didn't think too much of it at that moment. The AC worked but did nothing to take away the humidity from the air. It was so humid that the carpet was wet and I wasn't able to walk around barefoot or set anything on the floor. The bathroom and entryway tile floors were still wet, I assumed from them being cleaned recently. I was there for one night/two days and that tile floor and carpet was wet my entire stay, that's how humid it was in the room. There was no door to the shower and seemingly no fan in the bathroom (that I could locate anyway). The bathroom got so steamy that every inch of the bathroom was covered in condensation and/or water that had splashed everywhere outside the shower with no door. Th made it impossible for the humidity to clear out. The wallpaper was moldy and peeling off. The paint was peeling. The legs of the sink vanity were all warped and peeling because they were getting wet while I was taking a shower as well. The shower was filthy. Even the blankets & pillow were slightly damp. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend staying here. There are better stays down the street.

Reservation cancelled without any notice. The front desk staff seemed to know the name of the reservation and yet they claimed it wasn’t there. We had 5 rooms booked for two nights! There was a terrible smell when we walked inside. Women’s bathroom in the lobby was a mess. No tissue or seat covers. The snack store was completely picked through and not restocked. In the end we are happy to not be staying in this hotel but having to drive an hour away to another hotel is a major inconvenience.

This place needs to be remodeled. In our first room, the tv was about to fall. Our second room had one working plug. The Trim was hanging. Dirty corners. The toilet paper dispenser was hanging. Sanitizers in the building were empty. No coffee in the lobby, no breakfast. For the price, I would hope Marriott would give a good product. I felt like I was staying at the red roof inn. This stay was the worst Marriott experience. I won't stay here again.

Staff is terrible and rude. I had read reviews about how bad it is but I gave them the benefit of the doubt because reviews are one-sided often. And I am a BonVoy member who enjoys staying at Marriott properties. Whatever you do steer clear of the hotel. Stay at the Hampton Inn. Staff is amazing and accommodating. Staff will refute everything you say even though there is clear evidence that they are in the wrong. They also checked one of my coaches into a room with wet, nasty carpet that completely saturated her child’s clothes. Terrible!!!!!!
