Cat/Kitten adoption fees are $75.00 which includes spay/neuter, all vaccines as of age, deworming treatment, microchip with registration.
That's absolutely false, we adopted Grizzy and he had been there for 3 months. The staff was super excited he finally got adopted
No, the shelter does not have a vet on staff. For low cost spay/neuter options they recommend either Hope Animal Foundation or Valley Animal Center in Fresno. You can find more information about them on their websites at Hopeaf.com or Valley Animal.org
For volunteer information you can go online to Maderacounty.com under government click on Animal services. Checkout the Volunteer page or go under forms and documents to fill out the application.
No one was trying to purposely ingore you. Sorry for the late response. You can apply for the shelter either by watching the Madera County job opportunities at Maderacounty.com or go to the shelter in person during open hours and ask for an application. You must be at least 18 yrs of age, have a high school diploma or a GED in order to hold any county jobs, and reliable transportation. Any questions please contact the shelter directly. Hope this helped.
Porque si su perro se pierde, tiene su número de teléfono adentro, y la gente puede ayudarlo a encontrar a su mascota perdida llevándola a un veterinario.
Unfortunately the shelter doesn't have a vet on staff. Please contact any local vet or emergency vet for help.
They had some there a couple months ago. Saw 2 big adult and 3 pups.
They don't have a vet on staff. Hope Animal Foundation in Fresno has a clinic you can take the kitten to get check out. For pricing go to hopeaf.com
If they're sick or injured. Cat's are community property. TNR program available. Call FMAS.
You would have to call and make an appointment with the staff at Madera animal shelter. I am pretty sure they offer that type of a service
Leslie I don't know. I adopted my cat from the spca in fresno. You may want to check there website.
The Madera County Animal Shelter is not currently allowing any walk-ins. You need to call Monday through Friday to set up an appointment.
I don't think so I think you have to be 18

No. Hound mix. 4 cats. Chihuahua mix.
When I applied to volunteer, I did it in person, and someone (can't remember her name) signed me off right away. I was out walking the dogs a few minutes later. I don't know if that helps or not.
They have lots of larger breed dogs. Larger dogs are harder to find homes for. Older dogs need homes too. And often are already house trained. Just remember shelter dogs take 3-5 days to normalize after getting a home, 3 weeks to adjust to you and your routines, and 3 months or so to really be comfortable.
If they have them yes and I seen one a few weeks ago but anything else call them they are very friendly and great ladies in there
Call the shelter
Any shelter will take but they usually will euthanize because they don't have the means to watch kittens. You would have a contact a non kill shelter. Fresno humane is one of a couple. Madera shelter might be able to give you Info on where you can take them. If you're sure the mom cat is not coming back, put it on face book under some pet groups. There are always some cat people willing to take care of kittens. I had a similar situation.
Me and mom have 2 newborn kittens no mom cat But Mom is feeding them newborn kitten powder milk every 2 hours doing good But rather have a Cat Mom any out there?
I'm not sure. It's possible. But if you are a pet owner or someone who cares about their animal. I'd check it out before you do. Just to be safe that your animal will be taken care of properly. Just a suggestion.
If you live in the county of Madera (address will usually be 5 digits) you will license your pet with the Madera shelter. If you live in the city of Madera or Chowchilla you license with your police departments. All altered dogs (spayed/neutered) the license fees for county residents is $10 per year, unaltered dogs are $50 per year. If your dog is altered (spayed/neutered) and you are 65+ yrs old the license is $5 per year. No discounts on unaltered dogs. You can only license your dog for as long as the rabies vaccine is good for i.e. 1 year rabies - 1 year license, 3 year rabies- 1, 2, or 3 year license. Any further questions please contact the Madera Animal Shelter at 675-7891.
It is always hard to tell. Please just keep checking because they all need good homes. They have beautiful cats there now.
Please contact Friends of Madera Animal shelter at 559-363-5106 or go to fmas.info for information on low cost spay and neuter for Madera County residents.

Yes, all you have to do is call the Madera Police Department (675-4220) if you live in the city limits of Madera or call 311 if you live in the county of Madera, then just leave them the information they ask for and an officer will be dispatched to your location to pick up the dog.
Please bring them in, in a box or carrier between 10 am and 4 pm M-fF or Sat 10 to 2. Thank you for helping them.
No you need to take the puppy to a vet to make sure the puppy has parvo it could have something else.
The Shelter would be closed on all Major Holidays.Memorial Day would be a Major Holiday. So,NO they are NOT OPEN .
Write them out to Friends of the Madera Animal Shelter. That's the name of the on-site non-profit organization to benefit the animals.
There is low cost spay and neuter vouchers for low income for $15 for cats.
The shelter offers free and/or low cost spay and neutering when the funding is available. You have to call to make an appointment.
Call the shelter directly for that info pls? Its very reasonable.
Hi Diana. Our inventory of kittens changes almost daily. If you go in to the adoption center and let them know what you're looking they might be able find you one.
The shelter is overwhelmed and gets many unwanted animals each day so what they have on hand changes constantly. If you would like a specific breed or mix pls fill out an adoption form and they can keep you mind when that kind comes in.
I have a dog that we found and i believe its pregnant its a Chihuahua and it needs a foster mom
I have pups for free if you want to take a look at them. I'm in madera.

Yes, look up Friends of Madera Shelter (FMAS)...the non-profit organization that helps the Madera Animal Shelter find homes for the animals. There is information there, as well as photos and a phone number to get additional information.
