Is beautiful. It's worth it if you have time to take highway 1 and stop to see the views, the flora and fauna. Take a walk to one of the beaches there. It's true that most of the most iconic places require an entrance fee to get there, but if you've made the effort to come all the way, it's worth paying the entrance fees, which are between 10 and 13 USD per car. Be warned that it cools off at night and if you're looking for a beach destination for swimming, it's not the best place, as the currents are strong and most beaches are not suitable for swimming. Even so, there are some rivers with gorges where you can take a dip in their icy waters.

There are showers for the campgrounds. You will need to buy tokens to use them.
Big Basin Redwoods State Park is about 45 minutes away from Santa Cruz and has some very nice short and long trails with huge redwoods and I believe some sequoias. Limekiln State Park in Big Sur is also worth checking out. There are fewer trails and the trees are less impressive, but if you're planning a trip down through Big Sur it might be more convenient.
Yes but because of the lack of rain recently, the water levels are a little low
Not at the moment since the type of fish is tricky and is prohibited for the season And it is 10 dlls for the day but not for campaign and if you want campaign it is only with reservation
Yes, the California State Parks reservation system opens reservations to campsites six months in advance.
You need to drive an hour or more south if you want an open beach after sunset. The closest open beach to you is Pfeiffer Beach, down Sycamore Canyon Road ($12/car).
No
Nope
Yes, you can camp in the park
You need to go to the state park website.
There is a campground and there are RV and tent sites.
Yes, but they have to be on leash and are limited where they can go. The walks they can go on are very short, so if you want a long walk with the dog, hit up the USFS trails. The Big Sur Station has all the information you'll need for that!
