To truly understand the gratitude I have for this place you have to have experienced the life I has before I came through the Refuge. Living in a trap house, lots and lots of drugs, skin and bones and no one to call a friend. I now have brothers and a life. I’m trusted to rent a house. I have a nice car. I have a bank account with actual money in it. Most importantly I have a relationship with Christ and I’m truly happy.

I was at The Refuge for a little over 2 months. I was in second phase when I had a medical emergency and was in turn asked to leave the program. If you are injured or become seriously ill, just be prepared to be asked to leave without notice.

After the first month, men and women at The Refuge have one Family Day per month where invited guests can come to spend the afternoon. They will be able to provide you specific details during phone calls. Later, men and women can take home visits for weekends. All of this could be subject to change depending on COVID-19 protocols, as we work to ensure the men and women entrusted to our care are safe and healthy.

Men and women in the ministry do not make phone calls, send emails, or have any contact with people outside The Refuge for the first 30-45 days. In the event of an emergency, family members may contact our main phone number (614-991-0131) and we can get that message to the man or woman.
