They provided me with no assistance legal advocate was very rude and insincere because of their refusal to help me get a protection order. I severely beaten by my husband. I got my own protection order after that. They have refused to assist me in anyway and left me out here and struggling. Their own director shamed for returning to my abuser after I left the last time. Which by the way women leave 6-7 times before they break away. The director admitted knowing that after shaming me. They now are saying I threatened them because I'm a CPA and I told them if they do not follow the guidelines of their purpose I would contact the IRS. To pull their exempt status.

I think at one time this was a good, caring place that helped people needing help. I believe the change in attitude began when they moved into the new facility. Staff is a joke. Turnover is huge. I think only one person, excluding Barb, has been there more than a year. Most staff members leave within a couple of months. They do not help people, more like set them up for failure. Find them a ready to be condemned trap house for a rental. Family abuse shelter needs to review their policies and procedures to make sure they are being meant and not just taking people in and placing them quickly to receive grant money. The grant money is being thrown away here because they cannot keep staff and are pushing people out into bad situations. I would hope Miami county and the state of Ohio can find a better organization to give money to that actually care about the people who needs help.

They are great here! This is one of the best shelters. If you ever find yourself in need come here...

Yes all donations are welcome.
We took winter coats, gloves and hats. I would think they will accept any warm cloths. They do not accept bedding.
They need donations
