Wonderful enjoyment and a great asset for our community. Please don't mess it up for other's to enjoy. Remember to clean-up your trash and brass. Pack out, what you packed in. Please keep it family friendly and practice good gun range safety.
Hia dude
Aweful experience filled with dangerous shooters. Multiple instances of patrons pointed loaded and unloaded guns at other people in adjacent stations. Filth and brass everywhere making for multiple safety hazards. Absolulty no regulation or safety aside from the cold and hot rangecallous. Will never be returning and I reccomend this range be shut down due to the danger it presents.

Its unfortunate that so many people think of this as their own personal shooting range! I have never visited this place and not seen heaps of trash everywhere. Old appliances, propane tanks, and other assorted trash are constantly littered all over the range after being used for target practice. Very few people actually pick up their spent casings or old targets when they are done. And the unsafe weapon handling practices by many of the patrons have it to where I won't visit here with my children ever again. The Forestry service should either post a range officer to stop this from happening, or close it permanently. For a much nicer and safer shooting experience, go to Twin Ponds Rifle Range about 15 minutes away.

Use of bottles and cans is prohibited, plastic bottles should be ok as long as you clean up your trash
100 yard range.

Yes
I went today coming from Summerville an saw they were close due to government shutdown so I went to atp but it’s not the same...
If it gets to the point that it's repeatedly not cleaned up by users, they will close it to clean it.
Daylight
Yes it is free and yes you may shoot wooden targets, but last I heard it was still closed due to excessive debris left behind by sloppy shooters. The waits have been as long as 45 minutes on Saturdays but everyone has always been very friendly and willing to share an area. Check with Francis Marion State Park system to see if it has reopened.
I figured it would but didn't want to drive from summerville to find it was closed
I've been there since the snow.
Rough and muddy. If you want a clean and nice range go to twin ponds range. Just a note you cant shoot shotguns. Bring store bought paper targets. The have stands
