Pro: The actual move itself was great. A huge shout out to our moving team, Mr. Henry and Mr. Xavier. They were awesome! Very personable, professional and fast! I really hope they get the credit and recognition they deserve! Con: The only reason I gave 3 out of 5 stars was because of the price. I wasn't told that we had to pay a deposit upfront which came out to $223. They just took it out of our checking account. Then the actual service itself ended up being $506 for a grand total of $730 for a 3 hour job ($241 per hour). Our move was only about 7 miles.

The men that physically assisted in my move were great. But that is where it ends. My quote was $1,300.00 which I thought was a great price since I was only moving 200 yards. When the men were finished one of the men gave me my invoice and it was over $3,000. I called the office and they denied ever offering the quote. Will never use this moving company again.

We initially got a quote to have the larger contents of our house moved to our new location that included 2 upright pianos, a large tube TV, and a fire proof filing cabinet. At the time, we were promised a truck with a liftgate. The movers showed up July 28 as scheduled. There were 2 young men and another man maybe in his 30s. They showed up in a truck with no lift gate. They would not move the pianos, TV, or filing cabinet. They said they couldn't move the refrigerator because it wouldn't fit through the door. When my wife explained that the doors had to be removed to fit, the movers could not do it. My father in law had to drive over to remove the doors. My wife called their office to ask why our original agreement was not being met and was told a manager would be dispatched to her location. During this time all work stopped. We were billed for the time spent with no work being performed. When work was in progress, my wife had to continously stay on top of the workers to keep them moving. Sometime, when moving items through the back door, one of my son's toy airplanes ended up on the roof of the house. So now we were paying for the workers to play with items they weren't even supposed to move. The initial supervisor to show up was unsympathetic to our complaints so my wife called another customer representative by the name of Ashton who assured her the situation would be resolved. Later, when the movers arrived at the new house, there was still no TV, or filing cabinet. One of the 2 pianos was loaded on its side. This was the first time I met the workers in person. They were very polite but not knowledgeable of the work they were performing and it was painfully obviously at least one of them had smoked weed just before arriving. The smell was awful. While unloading, they broke the cover of a refrigerator door tray and wouldn't acknowledge it until I brought it to their attention, they did not secure the glass shelf plates in either of 2 curios (neither were broken, fortunately), and they said they would return the next day to unload the piano. I had to stop them from leaving to retrieve the second refrigerator door. The next day (July 29) the truck arrived with a different crew to unload the piano that was still on it's side. Its was unloaded down a ramp using a single furniture dolly. It almost fell several times. When the piano was set into place, it was no longer level and it is now very out of tune. "Ashton" assured us the situation would be resolved and that we would not be billed until then. It has been a week now and Ashton has not returned my calls. We were then billed for 6 hours instead of the initial quote of 4hours which was longer than the time actually spent working. My next step is placing a call to the better business bureau and Louisiana public service commission. I had heard good reviews and was very surprised and disappointed in the lack of professionalism and service. Not to mention the lack of interest in our concerns.

Exceeded my expectations and the crew was very attentive to our needs and our possessions. Gladly recommend Two Men and a Truck for local or long distance moves.

Questions & Answers

I will be moving my son from Baton Rouge to New Orleans. I will have a U-Haul truck to do the move, but I am need of your services to move the furniture out of a third floor apartment into the U-Haul truck. Would your company be able to do that?

Yes we can

We aren't moving, but need one man, maybe two, and a pickup truck to move a sofa. Do you provide a smaller service such as that?

Yes we can do that. If you are moving to and from Baton Rouge or the surrounding area, our minimum pricing is $430 if we can do this move between Monday to Thursday, $450 if the move is on a Friday, and $470 if the move is on a Saturday. This will get you 2 movers for 2 hours. If the moves happens to take more than 2 hours, we charge $31.25 every 15 minutes after the 2 hour minimum. If the move takes less than 2 hours, then you are only charged the minimum pricing listed above.
