A real workout for a relatively short hike. Various overlooks with beautiful views of the bay and Camden. We did it in sneakers, but I would make sure you have good treads. And bring lots of water and snacks as you’ll need it on the way up.

Steep and rocky going up to the tower. Extremely steep and rocky getting back down! Stupendous views along the way though. Soaring hawks, etc. Appropriate footwear a must.

From the State park it’s an easy hike through the woods. Once you reach the top and start to finish the path towards town, it gets A LOT more steep and more smooth rock front. I was not expecting to to slide down the side of the mountain for a short period of time. The Camden State Park side is for the beginners but the side you start on from town is more expert style.

Beautiful hike but difficult. It is very steep at times. Make sure you have shoes with good tread or you will have trouble getting your footing on some of the stone. I would only recommend this trail if you hike often or you are in good shape. We went up and then walked down the road to get back because going down the steep areas was scary for us (having to kind of slide down with your butt).

Yes if your dog is fit and likes climbing up rocks. It can get slippery if wet or icy.
