My last visit was my tenth time to the campground. It's close enough to the village of Camden to walk. It's got some great hiking trails -- including one that goes up to a 1,000-foot bald peak with awesome views Penobscot Bay and another that runs along the ocean just above sea level. But my favorite part is the road that you can either drive or walk up to the top of Mount Battie on. The view of Camden from there at sunset is stunning!

Lovely state park that overlooks the Camden harbor and surrounding coastline. There were beautiful hiking trails, plenty of parking and the outdoor restrooms were in good condition.

The view from top is awesome. You could see clouds too. It costs $6 for out of state vehicle. The drive to the top is just a mile and road is not that great.

Hiked up and stayed at the ski hut (you need a reservation). Hut is large (sleep 10 or more). Two Adirondack chairs and 3 picnic tables inside. Plenty of wood for the wood burning stove. Trails were super icy! Definitely bring traction in the winter. View from top was obscured by clouds, but views of harbor are stunning on sunny days. Great stay! Great day hiking locale too, but can be super busy in the summer.

I am not sure
The campground is open May to October.
You should call the park itself. Possibly. There are quite a few there.
Campground was not open week of April 2, 2021 and did not seem to be opening soon. One park ranger was there painting the outside of the gate house but the gate house itself was not staffed.
There are a lot of hikes here. If you are just going from the parking lot to the point where you can drive its about 1.5 miles one way or so... UP ... The higher point where you cant drive is about another .7 miles and more up. Id call them moderate for fit people easy for kids and hard on the aged / heavy scales.
yes it is - if you are coming from out of state you must quarentine for two weeks according to cdc guidelines
Resident fees are 25/night or 35 with water and electricity hookups. That's for a family or a group up to 6 people.
