Disrespected

The lawyer I had from this firm didn’t have a lot of time to prepare for my case but still took payment to represent me. I was hopeful to find a lawyer I could work with for the long run. His actions at the very end of the hearing were extremely unprofessional. What attorney leans over to crack a joke (at the literal expense of their client) to the opposing counsel in front of said client seconds after the judgement is made against their client? I wouldn’t recommend. Reply : A certified letter has been sent to your office detailing as to why I will not be retaining him for the future. Perhaps the fact that I am a person of color your attorney may have choose to show no professionalism? I can only speculate based my very short experience and his response to my email sent Friday. Then again, maybe he just isn’t concerned enough to care on how he responds to someone who he may assume has low intelligence and low income?

Thanks to something called exemptions, you won’t lose all of your assets when filing for bankruptcy. Exemptions are different for each state, but in Pennsylvania, bankruptcy exemptions are some of the most limited in the country. Depending on whether you choose Pennsylvania’s exemptions or the Federal exemptions (you have to choose either or), you can save things such as clothing, retirement savings, and more.

If I file for bankruptcy will I ever be able to get credit again?

While most mortgage lenders will make you wait for a couple of years before you apply for credit, many credit lenders will start sending you credit offers in the mail just weeks after going through bankruptcy. Why? Because you just eliminated a lot of your debt obligations! You may pay a higher interest rate right after bankruptcy, but it will be a good way to re-establish a good credit score.
