need to get help with my late husbands benefits. Will not let me come in person - only phone interview which is not scheduled for 2 months. This is unacceptable.

Walk in. Sign in. Then wait wait wait. Make sure you have everything you need to bring with you.
Yes. during normal business hours.
You have to take the required documentation down to the Social Security office when you become retirement age (or 3 months before) they then sign you up to receive Social Security and Medicare. You must have accumulated the required years of work to qualify. Call Social Security or contact their website for more information.
Your disability is your SSI

You need to send a certified birth certificate with a seal on it, you can't just make a photocopy and send it. It must have a raised letter seal from the bureau of vital statistics on it or it will be rejected. A Certified copy is usually more expensive than a photocopy. A person has to hand emboss a Certified Copy which raises the price! Hope that helps! 🤓
No but they do ask for an ID when they call your number
No but you may be waiting a while to see someone if you need to go in the back

If you go there, someone from social security will address your question you may have about social security benefits.
Sorry that you're having a hard time getting an appointment. Yes you can just walk in to your local field office during over hours and make the appointment. They may be able to see you them in there for your need depending upon what it is
