It has been a little while, but I'll never forget the experience I had trying to pay on a ticket here. They had a young boy working at the counter. He was extremely rude. He was saying loudly " you have more than one, which one, saying things so people could hear! He was laughing and smirking! He thought he was better than everyone there apparently. I was blown away by the behavior and couldn't believe no one said anything to him either! Actually I guess I can, just rude horrible people, enjoying when others are going through something, wow.

Entirely unhelpful. I called almost a month ago and was told completely incorrect information and, luckily, called back recently, where I was told that if I had followed the previous advice, they would have put a warrant out for my arrest. Within this incorrect information from the first call, I was told that I would be given a public defender and they would reach out to me... I did not qualify for a public defender at all. I live two and a half hours away and am a full time student, so I would have no time to make it to a pretrial or trial in person, so I was also told that if I waived my time via a document faxed to the court, I wouldn't have to come in at all. This is not at all what that meant, I found out and this is when I almost had a warrant put out for my arrest, if I had failed to come to court. Ultimately, I ended up paying the fine, despite not even having done what I was charged with, as they made it entirely impossible for me to dispute it successfully.

No one wants to go to court for any offenses, but the police officers and Judge Malchesky showed both humility and respect during the whole process. Also, the courthouse is kinda nice too.

I miss Judge C 😕 One huge plus for this small town courthouse are the two police officers who work security at the door. They are very pleasant to everyone, and even on a dark day for some they have a smile and a sense of humor. Definitely some authentic humanity remains there. I hope they never update or build a new courthouse, it adds charm to this area and some comfort for people who have history here. I do think a fence or a barrier should be built on the border of the parking area facing Arby’s parking lot to separate the court from that lot, it would add more charm if it’s done right.
