When my daughter told me she was taking me to this fabulous garden near the dump I was skeptical. Wow, she was right! This garden is worth the trip! It's quiet, well groomed and gorgeous! The main loop is paved with some benches, but if you'd like up close and personal you'll need to walk on the grassy areas. So, not suitable for wheelchairs or wheeled walkers, etc. There's plenty of parking with some handicapped spaces. If you love gardens and plants it's well worth the visit.

This place is a part of the Scattercreak Refuge. It protects the wetlands and the meadow area the large elk herd likes to graze on there. The herd is a beautiful specitical to see, if you are into that. I for one am and love driving the back road into Olympia to enjoy it.

It was raining but it looked inviting from the camper. With the rain out, I didn't walk the whole park, even though, as parks go, I thought, and I still do, that this is a small park but a good park to visit with kids. Up front when you arrive you see an orchard looking park then notice the foot pathways leading through and weaving around in the park. As you walk up closer you'll notice that many of the trees, plants, shrubs, and flowers are identified by markers placed in front of or near almost all of the plants. So even if you don't know your plants and trees, you can take kids there and help them identify each of the plants they see. I have always liked green settings that also have I.D. tags for the plant's names. Sorry, I didn't read what other information was on the tags... it was raining.

No, there are a few benches and a gazebo. A large part of the park is an open area for dogs, and there is a small walking trail.
