At first I felt like nobody wanted to do their job. That's my fault. At second encounter and second attempt for help the that was amazing I brought in two dogs that I found on the 4th of July weekend they were on the freeway one of them was chasing cars. They were able to help me gather them after they were accidentally set loose again. Thanks for the hot dog trick and thanks for the patience helping them get back in the car. They were returned to the rightful owner!

I would love to adopt a dog here but nobody is answering the phone and it's by appointment only. The pictures that they have sharedOn the website show the animals look very very sad and unkept and sickly. Someone needs to revamp the facility so these animals can find loving homes. I'm hoping that I will be contacted before my dog is euthanized!!!

Got an amazing cat from amazing staff and the care that they provided blew me away. Clean place and friendly staff definitely made it a pleasant experience. Going to get my next animal from this shelter.

Who is making these adoption fees?? $700 for a puppy with no health testing. An obese senior dog is ALSO $700?! No wonder their kennels are full... these poor dogs are literally homeless and being sold for barely less than what a responsible breeder would charge. The staff I spoke to didn't even feel comfortable charging that much! They don't even do rabies vaccines or heartworm testing. Surrounding rescues max out at $300, do more for the dogs, and aren't getting funded by the towns. Place is run like a pet store, not a humane society.

I watched the Live they did and they have to be assessed first..they said maybe some of the adults will be up for adoption next week
I went to BFHS a week ago. They do take kittens because they are easy to rehome. They ask for an adoption fee when possible to help pay expenses.
They will do their best to find a home for the animal but at risk of the animals mental state declining as shelters are stressful no matter how nice or new then they will seek a transfer partner of another no kill shelter to give the animal more chances of finding a forever home
Would it help my chances if I drove to the shelter? Should I go ahead & fill out an app online?
Wolf is doing well in his new home.
You can but will need to help by a donation for treatment 😉
They have dogs on site, any dog they have available you can find through PetFinder.com and send in a form of interest, and if they like what they see they will send you an application. Otherwise you can call and set up and appointment with whichever dog you're interested in. You can also stop by between 11-4 Tues-Fri and pick up an application and scroll through the dogs they have available on their inventory tablet they have for guests.
I am not 100% certain but I believe they do chip check every dog or cat that is brought in.
Try little lives small animal rescue. You can message them through Facebook.
They do help out with community service hours, just go to the front desk, ask for a volunteer packet and they with set you up with an orientation. Once that is completed you will be able to help out the shelter with all it's needs. Good luck @spicyboi
I would think so, that makes the most sense.
Exactly Volunteers are the key.
Give them a call in the morning they might have some traps you could use
And dont purchase or adopt pets. Unless you can take care of yourself and live well. If you wonder how you are going to make it. And or live to rely on the system. Pets for you probably aren't in the cards.
Her husband left her with no warning and if I could have them here I would got my own house to keep not allowed.
This time of year, post birthing season, my guess would be lots to choose from to complete your family. I was there early spring, less to choose from, yet I found the puppy I'd spent 2 years searching for. I'm sure you'll be pleased choosing this shelter.
I would definitely either call or drop by and ask. I do know that the animals would appreciate it.
Drive there. Don't get a pet unless you can take care of it and yourself. And have a solid job.
You can check with them, if they do not have kittens you can ask about volunteering for the future
Yes I m sure they do. FYI the pop popularity of that breed is falling and failing. Next time u decide to breed consider the probable outcome. Because if you don't ( you may have to put down your puppies).!
if you own your cat there is a place on Clearwater close to the 395.. drawing a blank on the name (just had surgery) They spay at about one half the cost of a vet. I don't think the humane society says unless the cat comes from there
Call Dr. Menks office. Great staff. They helped with my dog and were amazing
Don't think so
I believe so there's a couple of places in Benton city as well
I would recommend Goin In . you never know what you might find dogs come and go everyday . Even Yorkers
They update their Petfinder every 15 minutes
Bfhs.com
It is a no kill shelter. The reason for the price is they have there shots, exams and my be fixed to or they give you a coupon to PPOP for that. It's to help feed the animals, since it is a non profit.
you could try the fix it shop on Clearwater . I'm not sure if they do that but they are cheaper then the vets office
I m sure they would work with you. However I will tell you if your looking for a great companion ( loving, smart, easygoing and lazy like a cat). Look into adooting a retired Greyhound. Go to Yahoo and google greyhoundpetfinder Woodinville Wa. They are the forever 🐕 for dog and cat lovers. Again reasearch Greyhoundpets Woodinville Wa.
There is a reason pitbulls are given away and let go. If you are unable to take care of yourself and or dont have a job or your dwelling looks and smell like a dump. These or sny other animals aren't for you. However if you have an amazing carrer and work hard at working and are responsible. Do it!
The adoption fees are based on many factors. You can view the available dogs online. The website is updated daily and their adoption fees are listed with each available animal.
BFHS does not have a CEO. The shelter is run by staff, not volunteers, although volunteers are always welcome!
Call them, there are exceptions to fee charges but they are best at explaining rhem
Sounds like a fee that is incurred when you are found unfit to own an animal. Take take this as a learning process
They do take cats , but there is an owner surrender fee.Right now they are overwhelmed by a large number of dogs they just rescued from a pet hoarding situation . Another resource you might check into is POPP. They take in cats and dogs send them home with fosters and eventually forever homes.
Call the shelter, and ask for Kat. She's the foster coordinator and can get you started.
Adoption fees vary based on age, breed & other factors. Best option is to go look often for the type of animal you have in mind. Good luck!
Go in and talk to them. You will fill out an application and have to pay the adoption fee
The intake coordinator is in tuesday through Saturday if you take your dog out for leash walks till tomorrow you could probably take her in then.
18 or you can accompany an adult
They do a health check on all the animals they intake and also a behavioral health screen.
They have all kinds of kittens. You just have to check.
They do not do rescues like that. BFHS is owner surrender. If you are in Benton County you will want to call Benton County K9 Control. Also non emergency dispatch can give you the correct number to call for your area.
I didn't see any husky when there but I would check every week as they do have quite a few dogs.
They have a dog named mia she is a shepard mix and has been there for some time about large in size, does not like trains, brown and black
The dog must have a current certificate of health from their vet if the dog is crossing state lines or has not lived in washington for the past 6 months otherwise just make an appointment.
BFHS is a no kill shelter.
Yes. It may be less if it was sponsored or partially sponsored.
They typically ask for a $50 surrender fee to help go towards his microchip, neuter, shots, flee treatment, dewormer, and anything else he might need. If you can't afford that you can still work something out with them.
They do not have a Leroy Brown in their system currently.
This is a no kill, animal surrender shelter. You cannot just drop her off. Yhere is paperwork so they can help find her a home and a fee? If she is not yours how do you know she is 5months old?
If you have trapped a feral cat prevent homeless pets (PHP) in Benton county does offer spay and neuters for feral cats for fairly cheap around $20. It would be best to call first telling when you plan to have the animal caught, so they have room for you the next day or so. It always helps the community if you tell people your plan so that we can accomodate everybody.
Yes
