I feel very lucky that my husband found this firm through researching CT employment attorneys, and I am especially grateful to have worked with Amanda DeMatteis. From the beginning, it was clear that Amanda had my best interest in mind. She was able to clearly explain my options and provide valuable guidance along the way, patiently explaining and answering any questions that arose. As my situation progressed, she was always timely in responding to my needs, including meeting with me during her vacation at one point. My outcome was very positive as a result and I would highly recommend Amanda to anyone seeking an attorney well versed in employment law.

I retained Josh Goodbaum to represent me in a wrongful termination. He was not only extremely intelligent, he was efficient, factual and empathetic. His communication was timely and detailed. I never felt that I had to contact him to be apprised of my case. He was very easy to work with and very approachable. I highly recommend Josh Goodbaum.

Questions & Answers

What's Mediation and Arbitration?

Mediation is an alternative to having a day in court. You can meet with your opponent and communicate with a impartial legal mediator between you. Attorneys at Garrison Law have and can serve as mediators. Abritration is a procedure in which a neutral party makes a binding decision following a hearing that is usually far less formal, a good deal faster, and much less anxiety-producing than a trial in the courthouse. Under such circumstances, the parties privately agree that they will be bound by the arbitrator’s decision if it falls within certain parameters, but also agree that that they will resolve the case for an amount no higher than the upper end of those parameters (the “high”) and no less than the lower end (“the low”).

I had a no call no show at work, I signed a disciplinary report, and my supervisor put it on the company website, I'm the only name on there, don't know if I have a case but is that legal, I feel humiliated...

Thank you for asking, Moses. To answer your question, section 31-128f of the Connecticut General Statutes states that "No individually identifiable information contained in the personnel file ... of any employee shall be disclosed by an employer to any person or entity not employed by or affiliated with the employer without the written authorization of such employee except [for situations that don't apply here]." So if the "website" you reference is available outside the company, then it may violate 31-128f, and you could approach the Connecticut Department of Labor. We hope that is helpful and wish you good luck in dealing with this difficult situation.
